After submission of a project proposal by a partner, the proposal goes through several rounds of reviews by different parties, to determine whether funds will be granted by OCHA CBPF.
There are two sorts of reviews: strategic review, and technical and financial review.
The Strategic Review aims at identifying and prioritizing project proposals or concept notes considered best suited to address the needs identified in the allocation paper.
The Technical and Financial review aims at ensuring that proposals are of the highest possible quality before final approval by the HC. The review committees are comprised of groups of technical experts, per sector/cluster, that review project proposals according to their technical merit and the appropriateness of budget provisions. Sufficient time and effort has to be dedicated to ensure that substandard projects are improved or rejected.
