The review and approval process for Project Revisions involves several steps and requires the participation
of various stakeholders.
Lighter revisions may be approved at the Country Office level only, while more substantial revisions require final
approval from the CERF Secretariat and may involve multiple levels of review.
For detailed information on each step of the process, please refer to the sub-menu options on the left.
Below, you’ll find instructions on how to compare the original approved project with the newly proposed revisions.
Most revised pages in a Project Revision feature a button that allows the reviewer to view the current version with
the newly-revised version to facilitate comparison and contrasting. The layout and appearance my vary slightly.

1. The Overview Tab
When examining revisions to the Overview tab, reviewers may view the current version of the Overview tab with the
revision submission for comparison, by clicking on the [Show Current Version] button.
The existing version of the Overview tab will appear as a popup, and may be viewed in its entirety by scrolling within
the popup.
2. The Logframe Tab
Changes to the Logframe tab can be visually identified by colour;
cells which contain newly-added key components of the logical framework are shaded green
Elements which are no longer being implemented appear in greyed-out cells with the orange label Not Implemented.
3. The Work Plan Tab
In a Work Plan that has been submitted for revision, any months that are part of the period of extended
duration will be rendered in a gold hue, as indicated in the work plan legend.
Project activities that will not be implemented will display below the implemented project months as
Activities with the orange label Not Implemented.
The months of project duration are greyed-out, while months previously selected for project activity display their
original checkmarks.
4. The Budget Plan Tab
On the top right of the proposal budget, a table reflecting Budget Change will showcase key changes to the budget,
including the cumulative budget changes.
New budget lines appear over a green background, while budget lines removed from the budget display as grey.
The variance column to the right of the row, indicates any budget variance at the line level, as well as at the category level,
with the total highlighted in orange, displaying the variance in both the dollar-amount and the percentage.
5. The Programming Plan Tab
Any changes made to any portion of the Programming tab, may be identified and viewed for comparison by clicking
on the [Show Current Version] button. Clicking on the [Hide Current Version] button, will collapse the field.
6. The Cash Plan Tab
Any changes made to the Cash tab, may be identified and viewed for comparison by clicking on the
[Show Current Version] button.
The current elements of the Cash tab will appear in a in a grey text box.
Clicking on the button again, will collapse the field.
7. The Implementation Plan Tab
Any changes made to the Implementation tab, may be identified and viewed for comparison by clicking on the
[Show Current Version] button.
Clicking on the [Hide Current Version] button will collapse the field.
8. The Subgrants Plan Tab
Any changes made to the Subgrants tab, may be identified and viewed for comparison by clicking on the
[Show Current Version] button at the top right. Clicking on the [Hide Current Version] button will collapse the field.
9. The Locations Tab
Any changes made to the Locations tab, may be identified and viewed for comparison by clicking on the
[Show Current Version] button.
When clicked the current version will appear above the revision.
All current version location information will display in green cells.
For elements within the proposed revision, new locations will appear in green cells, and any locations
where project activity is no longer being implemented will display in grey cells.
Clicking on the [Hide Current Version] button will collapse the field.
10. Send a Revision Back for Redraft
When sending a Project Revision back to an Agency Focal Point for redraft, the reviewer may include feedback
to guide the Agency on what aspects of the Project Revision to redraft.
To send a Project Revision back to the Agency for redraft after review, the Country Focal Point or the CERF Programme Officer
may click the [Continue=>] button above the tabs to open their respective task option menus.
The Country Focal Point and CERF Programme Officer may select the option [Send Back to Agency], before selecting
[Save & Finish] to finalize the process.
CERF Programme Officers may alternatively opt to send the revision back to the Country Focal Point,
if any action or clarification from their side may be helpful to the process.
Once sent back for redraft, the Agency Focal Point will be able to edit the Project Revision before resubmitting it
for review.
