OneGMS Registration Process (for New Users)

I) OneGMS Access (Authentication)

OneGMS uses Entra ID for United Nations (UN) Agency users and UN Partner Portal (UNPP) for non-UN users. Humanitarian ID (HID) is no longer used. This guide explains how to register and log into OneGMS for all users.

1) Non-UN Users

Non- UN Agency users are those whose email domains are specific to their organization outside the UN system (INGO or NNGO) and those whose email domains are public (Gmail, Outlook, etc.). Users in this category should follow the instructions below.

a) Go to the OneGMS homepage: https://onegms.unocha.org.

b) Click [Login].

c) Enter your email address. Click on [Continue].

d) You will be redirected to UNPP. Depending on whether you have a UNPP account or no UNPP account, follow the instructions below. 

Note: This should be an individual UNPP account based on your email address and not an organization UNPP account. Neither are required to proceed.  

If you have an existing UNPP account:

a) Log in with your existing UNPP username and password.

b) Once signed in, you will access OneGMS to submit your registration request. Refer to this section for guidance on how to complete and submit the request.

If you do not have an existing UNPP account:

a) Click on [Sign up Now].

b) Enter your email address and click [Send verification code].

c) Enter the code received by email and click [Verify code].

d) Create and confirm a new UNPP password. Enter the rest of the details as required and click [Create].

e) Log in with your email address and the password you just created.

f) Once authenticated, you will access OneGMS to submit your registration request. Refer to this section for guidance on how to complete and submit the request.

2) UN Users (inclusing OCHA staff)

A UN Agency user is any user who has an email domain from any of the United Nations Agencies (i.e. un.org, unicef.org, unfpa.org, etc.). Users in this category should follow the instructions below.

a) Go to the OneGMS homepage: https://onegms.unocha.org.

b) Click [Login].

c) Enter your UN email address. Click on [Continue].

d) You will be redirected to Entra ID. Log in with your Entra ID credentials.

e) When you first log in, you will be asked to complete your OneGMS registration request and submit it. Refer to this section for guidance on how to complete and submit the request.

II) OneGMS Registration Request Submission

Pooled Fund: Select “CERF” from the drop down if you need access to CERF. Select a country fund if you need access to a CBPF.

Primary User Group: Select the Primary User Group applicable to you. If in doubt, select “other” and use the comment section to provide details to the approver.

Country: Select the country applicable to your CERF registration (only applicable if CERF is selected as the pooled fund).

Organization: If you are an agency user in country or at HQ, you will need to also select your organization in the drop down.

Cluster field (for Cluster Coordinators only): select the cluster applicable.

Click [Submit Registration].

For CERF, you can email gms-support@un.org if your registration does not get approved within 48 hours.

For CBPF, your registration will be approved by the CBPF in-country HFU.  

OneGMS Login (for Registered Users)

Once your registration has been approved, you can log in to the OneGMS as needed.

a) Go to the usual OneGMS URL: https://onegms.unocha.org/.

b) When you click [Login], you will be redirected to the OneGMS authentication interface.

c) Enter your email address and click [Continue].

d) OneGMS will redirect you to either Entra ID or UNPP depending on whether you are UN Agency user or not.  

If you are a Non-UN Agency user:

After entering your email address in the new OneGMS authentication page, you will be redirected to the UNPP login page.

You can sign in using your existing UNPP credentials (username and password).

Once authenticated, you will be logged into OneGMS.

If you are a UN Agency user:

a) After entering your email address in the OneGMS authentication page, you will be redirected to the Entra ID login page.

b) Once authenticated with your Entra ID credentials, you will be logged into OneGMS.

Specific cases: multi-users/multi-pooled funds registration

The following specific registrations cannot be processed by the users themselves as they require action from the HFU and the OneGMS support team.

  • Access to multiple funds.
  • Change of access from one fund to another.
  • Reactivation/Deactivation of access.

For all aforementioned cases, please send your request to both your OCHA country team and the OneGMS Support (gms-support@un.org), with a detailed explanation of your current situation.
