OneGMS Important Update: Changes to How You Log Into OneGMS

POSTED BY Khai Ahmed Salma | 31 Dec 2025 |

We are introducing an updated login experience for OneGMS. While the OneGMS web address and entry point remain the same, the way users sign in will change. These updates affect all users and support the transition away from Humanitarian ID (HID) as it will be decommissioned.

This article explains what you will notice as an existing OneGMS user when logging in and what steps, if any, you need to take based on your email address.

What Is Changing in the Login Process

  • Humanitarian ID (HID) is no longer used to access OneGMS.
  • After clicking Login from the same OneGMS main login page, users will be taken to a new authentication page.
  • From this page, users can enter their email address and will be redirected automatically to either Entra ID or UN Partner Portal (UNPP).

What Is Not Changing

  • The OneGMS web address and main login page remains the same.
  • Your OneGMS profile, roles, and permissions are not affected.

What You Will See When You Log In

Go to the usual OneGMS URL: https://onegms.unocha.org/.

  1. You will be redirected to a new OneGMS authentication interface.
  2. Enter your email address. OneGMS will redirect you to the appropriate sign-in system.

What You Need to Do (Based on Your Email Address)

Scenario 1: UN Users

All users with United Nations email addresses will be authenticated through Entra ID.

Who this applies to:

  • OCHA personnel
  • Users with UN email addresses.

What you need to know:

  • After entering your email address in the OneGMS authentication page, you will be redirected to the Entra ID login page.

  • Once authenticated with your Entra ID credentials, you will be logged into OneGMS.
  • No additional registration or action is required.

Scenario 2: Non-UN Users

All non-UN users will authenticate through the UN Partner Portal (UNPP).

Scenario 2A: Users Already Registered in UNPP

What you need to know:

  • After entering your email address in the new OneGMS authentication page, you will be redirected to the UNPP login page.
  • You can sign in using your existing UNPP credentials (username and password).
  • Once authenticated, you will be logged into OneGMS.

Scenario 2B: Existing OneGMS Users Not Previously Registered in UNPP

What you need to know:

  • All existing OneGMS users who were not registered in UNPP will be migrated ahead of the launch.
  • You will not need to register again.
  • The first time you log in, you will be asked to verify your email address and create a UNPP password.

Enter your OneGMS email address and click Send verification code.
